        Hope within cancer by Christianonfire7
Many of us have felt the shadow of cancer
cross our lives.  Normally, the poetry written
about it portrays the struggle and pain the
illness causes.  This poem highlights the
good things in life, tells a sweet story
about life going on, and leaves us with
a sense of peace.

All you need to do is let the melodic and
saccharine voice of this poem transport you
out of the every day and in to this deviants world,
a world where he clearly knows how to master
the English language, and twist it in such a way
that you can't stop reading, this poem especially,
once you start.

Get Better At Drawing (Without Drawing Anything)
Art is a process.
Like that of the scientific method and philosophical alchemy, art can be refined and improved through process. From observation, to experiment, to reflection and conclusion, art is improved by the steps we make towards change, not solidification and stagnation. Much of the advice out there for drawing is simply “practice” or “avoid distractions”. This advice is good, but there is more to creation than just throwing yourself mindlessly into a task and avoiding bad habits along the way. Good habits and knowledge will help to excel your learning process faster, and from that, improve faster and more effectively.
Look at it
As an artist, observation is key. The skill we develop is not just seeing, but interpreting what we see, remembering what we have seen and recording it in the form of visual art. This is a skill that, aside from blindness or vision degradation, you will be able to improve during your entire life. The way of seeing from an art

Love dA Lit: Issue 32
Welcome to the thirty-second issue of my weekly news article, Love dA Lit! :tighthug: Every Sunday this news article will aim to promote volunteer opportunities, various resources, prompts, challenges, and workshops, as well as highlighting various contests, interviewing various members of the literature community and spotlighting a specific group every week. This is by no means a complete list of all the literature going-ons, merely a tool to help you get involved and stay informed.

Make a Difference #111
Artists join deviantART to share their art and appreciate others. Due to the many artists out there, it’s easy to get towed under and generally obscured from the public.
Make a Difference aims to do exactly that. This series of articles will hopefully make a difference to you as well as the artists featured weekly. Just by giving one minute of your time to write constructive comments, favourites and even watches will make a difference to these artists.
:iconphilosomatographer: has gorgeous black and white photography and many awesome colourful ones too! He barely gets any attention at all so, if you have some time, go make a difference now!

I'm Maddy. I'm 23. I'm a writer/photographer/whatever-I-feel-like-making-today artist.
I like art that in many ways breaks away from what is considered 'traditional' and the same goes for writing.

:star:When asked I will give feedback on::star:
1. Whatever deviation that you ask me to
2. Deviations that are NOT commissions or requests(as the person who asked you to do it should have the only opinion that matters :D)
3. Whole galleries if they are under 100

I also love giving out Llamas.
Plus I'm a talkative person so if you want to know more about me or my work PLEASE don't hesitate to ask me.

Enjoy your day! :dummy: :la: :D

Interests
Life recently took a crappy turn for me. Needless to say it ended up badly and I don't want to talk about it, I want to focus on moving on.

I recently went on a trip to Yosemite National Park and I am leaving on the 11th to go to Death Valley. I also recently stayed with Grandma out in the ranch area near my city and grabbed some photos of horses and some flowers, as well as taking pictures of the blossoms in groves out there.

Only the blossom photos are edited and ready for posting so get ready for that. Not going to post much of a description though so no fun facts this time around.

When I get back from Death Valley more photos should be ready for editing and I am going to start up on drawing again. I am finally feeling motivated and inspired.

I would like you guys to do something for me. I want you to pick a theme. I won't tell you what it is for yet, just pick and minimally broad theme for me.

Have a great day guys, looking forward to talking to you again, if anyone is left.

Update 1

I just found out from my best friend (who is going along with me) that while I am going to be in Death Valley there will be a COMPLETE lunar eclipse. So I will be taking photos of that happening. :) Should be a blast.

Only one person gave me a theme so far and that theme is....
Winter

If you guys can come up with some more before I leave I will tell you what it is for. And which one I am picking.

Update 2

So the themes are....

Winter
Love
Hope
Insanity
Emotion
Nature
Music

Our dates got pushed back a bit so I am leaving on the 13th now.

So these themes are for a drawing project that I want to do while I am in Death Valley. I am going to sketch in my down time up there, and when I get home and I am done editing some photos I will draw from the sketches in my digital program. :) Hopefully it will be a hit.

I want you guys to pick one from this list that you like best. I am going to pick too, as well as talk to my friends about which one they like best.

Talk to you all soon I hope. :) Thanks for the suggestions! You guys are the very best.

Update 3

The winning theme was.....

WINTER!!!

Alright guys I'm off. Have a great spring break!!!

Hey its been awhile. I hope you're doing well. ^-^

Also, you might have noticed...but I updated my Blank Character Profile thing...again...I know...I updated it a lot...I've probably gone overboard....but I like details.

I hope things are going better for you now, I know they weren't going so well earlier this year. Still everything works out in the end...
